Just 20 minutes from Sai Kung town, Wu Kai Sha ESF International Kindergarten is a happy, vibrant pre-school where children thrive. Its play-based, inquiry-led curriculum encourages children’s natural curiosity and creativity.

Located above Wu Kai Sha MTR station, Wu Kai Sha ESF International Kindergarten has a wealth of resources including seven light, airy classrooms equipped with the latest information technology, a large indoor play area and an outdoor play area for sand and water play, and gardening.

Wu Kai Sha ESF International Kindergarten caters for children from a range of multicultural backgrounds aged three to five (K1 and K2) in two sessions a day, five days a week. It is staffed by experienced early-years practitioners, all holding internationally recognized qualifications, supported by high-calibre educational assistants for excellent adult : child ratios.

A wide range of teacher- and child-led activities are based around a topic. “One recent topic was ’Up, up and away’,” Emma Navin explains. “We had a rocket in the role-play area, planets and asteroids to run in and out of, bubble machines and, in one classroom, a hot-air balloon. All the K1 children went to Ma On Shan Park with their parents and teachers to watch the sun go down and observe the night sky.

‘We are proud of all that we have achieved since our opening 3 years ago,” she says. “We have a dedicated staff, wonderful children and supportive parents who all contribute to the positive ethos and welcoming learning environment evident at Wu Kai Sha.”

Most K2 children move on within the ESF system, usually to the nearby Renaissance College (an ESF Private International School) or Clearwater Bay, Sha Tin Junior or Beacon Hill primary schools. As with other ESF kindergartens, Wu Kai Sha’s students receive priority for an interview at ESF schools, although neither an interview nor a place can be guaranteed.

A K2 parent enthused recently, “My boys have been lucky enough to enjoy the stimulating and caring school environment of WKS. They provide an excellent level of care and education.”
