The Sai Kung day spa offers an Essential Rose Facial (from $860 for 60 minutes) rejuvenates the skin with the anti-aging properties of rose products used, giving the skin a boost of energy and glow. There’s also an optional back massage – who doesn’t enjoy a good kneading during a facial? Alternatively, try the Exotic Cream Moisture Dew Facial ($780 for 60 minutes) for a soothing specialist facial that leaves the skin smooth and moist.

This old-town favourite has three locations on Po Tung Road, one focusing on foot massages and pedicures and the others specialising in massages by professional Thai masseuses in a warm, relaxing atmosphere. The services vary, including traditional Thai and deep-tissue massages, child foot reflexology, pregnancy massages, medical oil massages, body scrubs, paraffin wax hand or foot spa treatments and waxing treatments. Prices start at $195 for a 45-minute massage. Packages of facials and massages cost $430-$560.

Anna’s Thai and Foot Massage
Run by Kanlaya Khoonyindee since 2004, her spa menu is split into Thai treatments and sport therapies. A 30-minute neck and shoulder massage start from $150 and a two-hour Thai Herb massage for $700. Anna’s Thai and Foot Massage also offers dog massages. The sessions can be arranged through Anna and conducted either at Pet Central or at home. Dog massages cost from $500 for 45 minutes for large dogs and $400 for medium-sized dogs. Appointments are recommended especially during the busy period of saturday and sunday.

Available during March and April, the Caviar Rejuvinating Journey ($1,188) is a seasonal moisturising treatment that leaves skin glowing. Pampering you from head to toe, it includes a 25-minute facial, a 55-minute soothing massage. Take a friend and the two of you will also receive a complimentary 30-minute milk bath. Melo also offer treatments for kids from 5-15 years old, starting from $180 for a mani when accompanied by an adult.

Allure’s Slim Face Facial ($500 for 70 minutes) aims to regenerate skin cells and stimulate the five main organs of the body, while removing excess water and the body’s toxins. The facial includes an ultrasound massage to stimulate and improve the moisture of our skin, resulting in a slimmer face.

King’s is a salon with a social conscience: it provides free 20-minute shoulder, foot or hand massages for the elderly every Sunday (10am-noon) and offers a year-round 30 per cent discount on facials for students. Run by Angel Kong, this old-town nail parlour offers manicures, pedicures, hand-painted designs, soak-off gel nails and OPI rehydrating spas for both hands and feet. It’s a charming shop with comfortable seats and a selection of OPI products for sale, including buffers, cuticle oil and lotions.
