On 14 August, an exclusive, one-off kayaking tour will set off around Sai Kung Geopark, giving participants the chance to access areas that are usually off limits.
The event, called “Sai Kung Geopark Paddle” is organised by local hiking and outdoor adventure outfit, Get High. The six-hour guided kayaking trip will make stops at hidden beaches and islands that can normally only be reached by private boats and kayaks.
According to the event’s website, “our instructor will lead you to some of the most pristine locations that Hong Kong has to offer, including a mangrove, a tombolo, caves, and other islets.”
The Welsh-born instructor, Sion Bennett, is a former professional athlete with a love of the great outdoors. Under his guidance, kayakers will be able to explore Sai Kung and see its natural wonders from a new perspective.
Running from 9am to 4pm, the trip includes a lunch break on a secluded beach. According to the website, “there will be plenty of time to swim, relax on the beach and get to know the group.”
The trip sets off from Sha Ha Beach, 743-751 Tai Mong Tsai Road, Sai Kung, on the morning of Saturday, 14 August 2021. Tickets cost $550 per person (plus a $13.75 Service fee). For more info on the event, paddle over to the Get High website: gethigh-hk.com
